You can acquire a long brush that is thin to enable you to clean the tube. You can also use a homemade cleaning material, for example, a wire that is long enough together with a piece of cloth. You should bend the wire at the end and attach the piece of fabric. Wash the tube by pushing the wire inside the tube. Repeat severally until sparkling clean. You can use vinegar or a bleach if need be to clean the tube. Rinse the tube and squeeze the bite valve; this will ensure that all the residual is cleaned out.
Dry out all the parts and store in a freezer
All the systems of the hydration pack should be kept dry. If water is left out, it can allow bacteria to thrive and molds as well. Dying all the parts is paramount. After the tube and the bladder are dry, you can store them in the freezer. Thanks to technology, the bladders are of the size to be stored in the freezer. No bacteria can survive inside a freezer.
